ARE YOU ENTERING YOUR HOUSECOAT YEARS?

$5.00

#00400/Greeting Card (6.25" x 4.5") - Blank

When I look at women's magazines from the Fifties and Sixties, I'm always struck by the number and variety of housecoats, housedresses, and aprons.   In fact, I'll bet you could do a pointless sociological survey where you take a years' worth of issues of all the so-called "womens' magazines," count up all the advertisements for "housewife clothes" vs. all the advertisements for "career girl clothes," and then compare the ratio from year to year.  The Atlantic Monthly is always printing the results of ridiculous studies like this.  I read one where some bozos did a study where they reassessed an earlier claim that the "right amount" of money to carry around in your wallet is $73.00 or something like that.  The results of their study "proved" that the right amount is actually something like four hundred bucks!    Okay, putting aside the fact that people don't generally walk around with four hundred bucks in their wallets (unless they're Tony Soprano), WHY WOULD ANYONE THINK THAT STUDYING THIS ISSUE IS A WORTHWHILE VENTURE?  Who funded it?  Of what POSSIBLE use is this so-called "information."  I'm getting all worked up now.  I'm gonna think about something else...
