Gloves look so great with wide sleeves.  But have you ever tried to wear gloves -- not the type of gloves that you wear with your coat and your scarf to keep your paws warm, but those fabric or unlined thin leather gloves that ladies used to wear all day?   It's a pain in the drain, Fontaine!  My husband was telling me about this famous photographer in the Forties or early Fifties who took an iconic shot for a fashion mag:  a great-looking model wearing a hat and veil, smoking a cigarette.  None of the American fashion magazines would use it because (a) the cigarette wasn't in a holder; and, (b) she's not wearing gloves!  So obviously, she's a prostitute!
