Okay, I think it’s important to recognize that the nearly unfathomable glamour projected by this image is due almost entirely to the pose struck by the model - a pose that people just don’t assume in the real world.  Let's face it, stoles really aren’t all that great-looking if you’re just standing there with your arms at your sides.  You look like a gal who couldn’t afford the whole coat.  But if you spend the evening with hips cocked and hands clutching at your head, then you look dramatic and your stole (with its gorgeous satin lining) looks sensational.  It's just another example of the pose selling the clothes.  Be careful out there!
